KAUST Visualization Core Lab presents:

Scientific Visualization Workshop Series

The KAUST Visualization Core Lab (KVL) will  present a Zoom virtual workshop series on scientific visualization. The goal of the series is to train scientists on the tools and techniques that can help them to find insights into the scientific phenomena that lie behind data.

The workshop series will cover various visualization tools, workflows and techniques related to large data visualization and 3D reconstruction. KVL’s scientists will introduce powerful tools such as ParaView, a highly scalable, open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application; Avizo, a general-purpose commercial software application for scientific data visualization and analysis; and ilastik, an open source image classification and segmentation tool. They will also present various interactive demos, workflows and examples to educate workshop participants about the tools.

Workshop 4

Introduction to Image Segmentation and 3D Reconstruction
Thursday, April 1, 1:00 — 5:00 p.m.

The workshop series is open only to the KAUST research community. Its particular focus is for KAUST students, scientists and postdoctoral fellows who deal with complex data in their work. They will benefit from creating interactive and exploratory visualizations to gain a better understanding of their data.

Spaces are limited, so register early to book your spot. You will receive a confirmation email after registration.
