Mate-ROV is an international program offered to school and university students to inspire and challenge them to solve real-world problems and to develop the skills of the next generation of marine engineers and ROV pilots.

The Mate-ROV program is currently delivered in more than 16 countries and culminates in a world competition where all the teams representing their countries come together to compete. This year the World Competition will be held in Tennessee, U.S.

To progress to the world competition, teams must compete and win their regional competition. TKS, in partnership with the KAUST Coral Restoration Initiative, is excited to be hosting the Saudi Arabia Regional Competition on May 16 and 17, 2024, at TKS High School’s gym and pool.

The KAUST Community is invited to support our competitors and cheer on the TKS teams to qualify to compete in the upcoming world competition.

Ten teams from TKS Elementary, Middle and High School are competing in the regional competition across the two days of the event:

SCOUT teams (Elementary)       Thursday, May 16, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
NAVIGATOR teams (Middle)       Friday, May 17, from 8.00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
RANGER teams (High)                  Friday, May 17, from 8.00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Come along and support our ROV teams to represent KAUST and the Kingdom!

We would like to thank HSE, Community Life and the many departments and individuals who have helped us to deliver the Regional Competition.
