Building 3, Level 5, room 5209
The KAUST Imaging and Characterization Core Lab Optical Microscopy (OM) Unit, in collaboration with Attieh Medico and Carl Zeiss AG, is delighted to invite you to a day of enlightening lectures introducing two cutting-edge imaging modalities recently installed in our Core Labs. We are proud to present application scientists from Zeiss who will discuss the remarkable capabilities of super-resolution microscopy and whole slide scanning microscopy.
Super-resolution microscopy, powered by the Zeiss Elyra 7, employs structured illumination and single-molecule localization techniques to achieve an astounding resolution of 60 nm. Using this technology, biologists gain unprecedented access to the intricate molecular details of cells, enabling the observation of live cell dynamics at remarkable speeds.
The Axioscan 7, our whole slide scanning microscope, revolutionizes image acquisition by automating the process for a diverse range of samples within the life sciences sector. Whether it is tissue sections prepared with traditional histological stains or fluorescent probes, the Axioscan 7 effortlessly captures and digitizes entire slides, offering researchers a comprehensive view of their samples. Moreover, this powerful instrument extends its utility to material science research, as it enables imaging of thin rock sections using plane-polarized, cross-polarized or circularly polarized light.
This event is open to anyone interested in gaining valuable insights into the latest advancements in imaging technologies and their applications in various scientific disciplines.
