World Health Week: Weight Management Workshops

Understanding how and why we gain weight and more importantly, how we can lose it, is essential to keeping healthy. Don’t miss the weight management workshop being offered today and tomorrow: two different sessions will lead you through obesity prevention and steps to healthier living. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Saturday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Introduction highlighting the current problems we face
  • History, myths, and big fat lies
  • What you need to know about becoming overweight (even if you are not)

Sunday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m.
Discovery Square Theater

  • Two years of results: what can be achieved
  • Do we need to count calories: the eating plan?
  • Do we need the gym: the exercise plan?
  • The most important (and hardly used) factors that affect long term success
  • What can we do next?

These workshops are led by Jon Dean, who has been running the weight management program (LOSE BIG) at the Harbor Sports Club for two years and alongside his research for his MSc, has helped hundreds of people lose weight, get fit, and look great.
