The Holy Month of Ramadan is expected to begin either on Thursday, April 23, or Friday, April 24, 2020.

Ramadan working hours

During Ramadan, working hours for Muslim employees will be reduced to six (6) hours, while working hours remain at eight (8) hours for non-Muslim employees.

Given the current remote working arrangements, Ramadan working hours must be agreed upon with employees and their line managers.

The Eid Al-Fitr break will be from Sunday, May 24 to Thursday, May 28, 2020.

Useful information during Ramadan:

  • Official virtual meetings should take place during the agreed working hours. Please avoid scheduling meetings in the early morning and late afternoon.
  • Employees who are not fasting are requested to refrain from eating, drinking and smoking in public areas or while attending virtual meetings during daytime hours.
  • Regular prayers and Tarawih should be performed at home; no gathering at the Grand Mosque.
  • Please consider social distancing and avoid exchanging Iftar or Suhoor meals or joining group Iftar or Suhoor.
