#HearttheOceans is a film festival designed to encourage interaction and discussion between marine scientists, ocean lovers and KAUST community members about ocean conservation.

4:30 p.m. – “Shark: Beneath the Surface (BBC film with discussion)

The #HearttheOceans Film Festival will feature a number of action-packed films that push the boundaries of sports and endurance. These are short films—each festivals’ collection of films will total approximately 2+ hours per night.
Ocean Film Festival #1 program @ 8:00 p.m.

- “Step ‘n’ Soul” (surfing)
- “Ray: A Life Underwater” (deep sea diving)
- “The Last Ocean” (marine conservation)
- “A Life in Extremes” (free diving)
- “This Time Tomorrow” (big wave surfing)

- “Attractive Distractions” (surfing)
- “(R)Evolution” (marine environmental documentary)
- “Storm Chase” (Red Bull windsurfing challenge)
- “Prime” (wakeboarding)
- “The Crystal Labyrinth” (cave diving).
#HearttheOceans is organized by the Society for Conservation Biology (Marine Section) and the Red Sea Research Center and is sponsored by Graduate Affairs.
