Service Update

Dear KAUST community,

We are happy to share an update on the recent transition of KAUST Health services to the International Medical Center (IMC). The past week has been truly remarkable, with hundreds of patients already utilizing the services offered.

First and foremost, we want to express our sincere appreciation for your patience, understanding and support during this significant transition. We understand that change can sometimes come with unforeseen challenges, and we are grateful for the community’s understanding during this time.

Initial areas of focus

The Call Center has experienced an unprecedented volume of inbound calls, resulting in some delays in reaching our dedicated staff. We want to acknowledge this challenge and reassure you that we have worked diligently to improve the system throughout the week.

One of our top priorities was the seamless transfer of all medical records and file history from the previous provider, DSFH, to IMC. We are happy to report that the majority of these records have already been successfully uploaded to the IMC medical record system. For a few remaining files still in the uploading process, we anticipate their availability next week. Rest assured, all records will soon be easily accessible, contributing to comprehensive and continuous care for every member of our community.

We understand there have been some challenges regarding medication availability at the pharmacy in KAUST Health. We deeply appreciate your understanding as we address this matter promptly. We are delighted to inform you that, beginning next week, a full range of medications will be readily available to cater to your needs, ensuring a seamless and convenient healthcare experience.

Looking ahead

We are excited to share that further improvements are planned over the coming weeks and months. We will introduce several specialty clinics to expand the range of services available to you and additional availability of core services, such as physiotherapy and dentistry. To stay up to date with the latest information on the available services, appointment booking and access guidelines, we encourage you to regularly visit the updated FAQs section on the KAUST Health website. We are committed to keeping you informed and ensuring a transparent and user-friendly healthcare experience for all.
