One new case of COVID-19 has been identified at KAUST in the past 24 hours. A KAUST resident presented to the emergency room with symptoms and tested positive. This community member has been outside of KAUST only once in the previous 14 days and followed precautions. It is not possible to confirm the source of the infection but it is likely to have been another case of community transmission.
The total number of cases at KAUST is now at 66.
Please continue to practice physical distancing, the wearing of masks, hand washing and adherence to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines. The best way to stop transmission of the virus is to keep the size of your social group as small as possible, meet friends and contacts outdoors, and practice physical distancing of at least 2 meters.
