June 5 is a global World Environment Day (WED), with this year’s theme being “Connecting People to Nature.“ On this ideal occasion, KAUST Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Department encourages community members to go out, enjoy nature, and discover nature within KAUST backyard.
KAUST is a home to a more than 240 species of birds, about 900,000 m2 of mangrove areas, more than 1 million m2 of parks and trees, and much more to explore. To explore KAUST nature, please watch KAUST’s cinematic biodiversity video.
In the age of asphalt and smartphones, and among the distractions of modern life, connections with nature can be fleeting. On WED, why not to dive in the Red Sea, walk in the seaside near the mangroves, or go for a birdwatching.
