On Sunday, 21 September, the International Day of Peace, Grade 3 students spent the morning considering and sharing their thoughts on how the world could be a better place for everyone and everything in it.

Gathering their thoughts together, the children wrote this wonderful poem and also
composed the picture of each student’s hand circling the world.

International Day of Peace Poem

Today is the day we wish for peace.
Peace in Africa for the poor,
Peace in Jeddah for the poor,
Peace in Russia because of the war,
Peace in Brazil because they need food,
Peace in Brazil because a lot animals are dying in the jungles,
Peace in Africa because Cheetahs and other animals are being killed,
Peace in China because of air pollution,
Peace in Africa for the animals and humans,
Peace in the sea because blue whales are dying,
Peace in the ocean because sharks are dying,
Peace in oceans because of the garbage,
Peace for the animals because they are dying,
Peace for people because the poor people do not have money,
Peace for whales because they are being poached,
Peace to all the countries that have war,
Peace in Sri Lanka because Elephants are being poached,
Peace to Canada for wars,
Peace to Thailand and Philippines for floods,
Peace in Palestine because children are dying,
Peace in Rwanda because they have a lot of wars,
Peace for everywhere on our planet because we want our earth to be a better place.
