Registration for the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) 2023 is now open! Discover where EDGE: Transform the world you know today will take you – explore the schedule here. Two weeks filled with intellectual enrichment – keynotes, lectures, panel discussions, film festival, art installations, performances and much more.

Opening Day
Join us to celebrate the start of WEP on Sunday, January 8 at 5:00 p.m. in the Auditorium (Bldg. 20).  Provost Larry Carin will open the evening, and the Chair, Associate Professor Derya Baran, will welcome Dr. Hugh Herr for his virtual opening keynote lecture.  Dr. Herr is Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at the MIT Media Lab, and co-director of the K. Lisa Yang Center for Bionics, where his research is creating bionic prostheses that emulate the function of natural limbs.  After a live performance by socio-ecological artist Colleen Flanigan, the audience will then be invited to attend the Opening Reception for refreshments and the Beyond Arts Exhibition at the University Library.

Keynote and Distinguished Lecture Series
The hallmark of every WEP, lectures take place daily at lunchtime from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. and in the evening from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium (Bldg. 20). Focusing on current discoveries at the very edge of our knowledge, our speakers have been carefully chosen as much for their findings as their fearlessness – how do they motivate and maintain their courage to go beyond?
