The Art Club is offering a new mosaic workshop – for adults starting in April. There will be 6 classes. Each class lasts two hours.
Location
Art Studio in the Island Recreation Club (IRC).
Schedule
When: The first 3 classes, April 28, May 5 and 12 will be from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. so people can do “Iftar” before coming to the class. The last 3 classes, May 26, June 2 and 9 will be 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
(There will be no class on May 19 due to the TKS holiday.)
Cost
The total cost for all 6 classes will be 400 SAR, to be paid in cash on the first class, and includes the cost of ceramic tiles, wooden base, glue, grout and a wooden frame.
For Who?
Adults only (senior secondary school children can attend, but only by special arrangement by email). If you know you cannot attend all 6 classes then please do not sign up because numbers are restricted due to the Covid 19 restrictions.
Participants are required to follow the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines.
Clothes
You should wear clothes which are suitable for getting dirty – or bring your own apron.
Teacher
Nesegul Demir, (called Nessie), a KAUST resident from Turkey, will teach you how to make beautiful traditional mosaic pictures using broken pieces of coloured ceramic tiles. Nessie is a trained and experienced art teacher who specializes in mosaics, as well as acrylic and oil painting.
