We are happy to announce the start of a new series of art workshops for homeschooled kids!

We are grateful to Winston Alpuerto for volunteering to teach these classes. Winston will teach different subjects and media each week, including: drawing, painting, paper sculpture, ceramics, printing, recycled materials art and craft work, friendship bracelets, and picture frames.

For who? Kids of Grade 1 – Grade 5 (any younger by special arrangement)
Where?: Art Studio, Island Recreation Center (IRC)
How often?: We are doing workshops every Sunday in three blocks of four week workshops until the end of December.
When?: Every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon (please don’t be late!).
Dates (until the end of the calendar year)

  • Block 1: 8, 15, 22, 29 October
  • Block 2: 5, 12, 19, 26 November
  • Block 3: 3, 10, 17, 24 December.

Cost: It will cost 20 SAR per child for each workshop so you will pay 80 SAR on the first day (8 October) for the first block of 4 weeks, then for block 2 on 5 November and for block 3 on 3 December.

Materials: All materials will be supplied by the Art SDG, but you can purchase your own sketch pad for your child (15 SAR each).

Register: Just bring your child along to the studio and sign-up there and pay for the block – no need to sign-up by email or before the lesson.

  1. How are kids from Grade 1-5 supposed to attend these sessions while they would be at school? In the previous announcement, that was sent on October 2, the dates were all scheduled on Saturdays. Please advise which days are correct. Thank you.

  2. Both dates are correct.

The Saturday Kids’ Art is for kids who go to The Kaust School.
The Sunday Kids’ Art is for home schooled kids who don’t go to school (it actually said on the Sunday advert that it was for home school kids).

Please get in touch again if you need further clarification.

    Best regards,

    Chris Newns
