Colleagues and Community:
I am pleased to announce that Mark Tester, Professor of Plant Science and Associate Director of the Center for Desert Agriculture, has agreed to serve as the Chair of WEP 2016. WEP, which will run from January 10 – 26, 2016, and the satellite programs in the Spring and in the Fall will fall under his leadership, energy and expertise. I would like to thank Mark for his commitment to this new role.
WEP creates a lively and engaging atmosphere, taking us away from our regular activities and bringing together KAUST speakers and eminent guests from around the world. The success of the Enrichment Programs depends upon the enthusiasm and creativity of the entire KAUST community. I thank you for your past efforts and look forward to the 2016 program, which will be built on your ideas as selected by the WEP Committee. The Committee, comprised of students, faculty, school teachers and staff and the Chair, oversees the design of the enrichment programs and reviews and selects the proposals submitted by all members of the KAUST community.
Thank you, again, to Mark, and I look forward to seeing a rich array of ideas for proposals. Stay tuned!
