Delivery of KAUST’s new Cray XC40 supercomputer Shaheen II will take place between Sunday, March 15 – Saturday, March 21. The delivery route will take Shaheen II around the Campus Diner to Al-Khawarizimi (building 1), as a result access will be restricted around this area during these dates.
The cycle route (seaside) in front of Al-Khawarizimi (building 1) and the University Library (building 12) will be blocked, and the cycle racks outside of both buildings will not be accessible. Therefore all bikes in the area will be removed for safety issues along with the tables in front of the diner.
The equipment being delivered is large and extremely heavy so as to avoid any issues we would like ask people to avoid these temporary restricted areas, unless necessary. Security personnel will be on hand to advise of alternative routes.
