What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour is a global lights-out event that has grown from a symbolic one-city occurrence, into a global movement. This year hundreds of millions of people from all walks of life across 7000 cities and towns, in 154 countries and territories, will be synchronizing their “switch off” on Saturday, March 29 from 8:30 p.m. (local time) for one hour.

KAUST is joining the global community to celebrate Earth Hour.

On Saturday, March 29 from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m. lights across the campus and community will dim or completely darken (without compromising safety).

In addition to the lights-out initiative, there will be a community celebration at Harbor Walk (behind the Harbor Library) with activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Look for more details on The Lens about Earth Hour at KAUST, as we get closer to March 29.
