The transition from the lab to the marketplace is often a chaotic and confusing process. Dr. Aydogan Ozcan will talk about how to balance producing great research while building an innovative  company and his journey and describe his own experiences and lessons learned throughout the process.You will come to understand how to maximize your positive impact on the world by having entrepreneurial drive compliment academic achievement.

Biography of Dr. Ozcan:

Dr. Aydogan Ozcan is the Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) leading the Bio- and Nano-Photonics Laboratory at the Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering Departments. Dr. Ozcan holds 22 issued patents and 15 pending patent applications and is also the author of one book and the co-author of more than 350 peer reviewed research articles in major scientific journals and conferences. He also developed an innovative portable device used to convert the smartphone into a microscope in a cost effective way.
