Community members are encouraged to donate gently used household items by placing them in designated bins outside of the Reuse Center. The Reuse Center is located on Exploration Avenue (near the Samba Branch) and accepts all types of used household items (clothing, toys, electric appliances and devices, kitchenware, shoes, etc.).
If the item is too big or difficult to bring, the Reuse Center staff can collect it from your house. All collected items are transported to approved charity organizations that repair, clean, pack, and deliver them to needy people.
Recently, The KAUST School (TKS) students in collaboration with Waste Management created new signage for the Reuse Center using items collected by the Center. This proved to be a fun experience for TKS students to be firsthand promoters of better practices of recycling and reuse.
