Mandatory COVID-19 booster doses

Saudi Arabia announced that from February 1, 2022 it will be a requirement for everyone aged 18 and over to have received a booster dose no later than eight months after their 2nd dose. Failure to receive the booster dose by this time frame will remove the person’s ‘immune’ status on Tawakkalna and, therefore, their ability to enter buildings, travel on planes and other forms of public transport, and return to the Kingdom without entering Institutional Quarantine.

  • It must have been at least six months since your second dose before you can receive the booster dose
  • Bookings can be made via Sehhaty for locations in Jeddah and elsewhere in the Kingdom
  • KAUST Health has made the Pfizer booster vaccine available to those community members who have already reached the six-month time frame. Further vaccine slots are available in December for those who are now eligible, and additional availability will be added for January and February.  A Sehhaty booking is not required for COVID-19 vaccines given at KAUST.
  • Anyone who has already received a booster dose in another country or plans to do so in the coming weeks and who has not already uploaded this information, should wait for confirmation on how to upload into Tawakkalna from the authorities.
