COVID-19 vaccination update

MoH monthly screening

Monthly testing for June began today, June 6. This is a mandatory testing program for all over 18’s, irrespective of their vaccination status.

Test slots are available between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. between Sunday June 6 and Thursday June 10 at the KAUST Inn 1. If you have not booked a slot yet for yourself, your dependents or helpers then please do so here.

Anyone taking a test outside of KAUST as an alternative must submit their results here by 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 12.

For more information about the testing program please visit here.

Please note: We are aware of some difficulty in booking your appointment on the Sehhaty App for the screening program. Please continue to try to book on Sehhaty, however if you have been unable to book a Sehhaty slot then please do not come to the testing facility and try again later in the week.

Please remember: bring the QR code from the Sehhaty app as well as the QR code generated from your KAUST booking.

Second dose vaccines in the Kingdom

As announced by the Ministry of Health, second doses in the Kingdom remain available currently only to those aged 60 years and over; those with a BMI over 40; and those with a few very specific health conditions.

While we still expect second doses of vaccines to be available in the Kingdom, if individuals have the opportunity to get a second dose of the same vaccine brand as their first dose during the summer break, then they are encouraged to take that opportunity. Please ensure you submit details of any vaccines received to 937@moh.gov.sa with a copy of the vaccine certificate, iqama/ID, passport and mobile number so this can be linked to your Tawakkalna account.

Travel documents

If travelling this summer, please download and print a copy of your vaccination certificates from the Sehhaty app. This is the official Ministry of Health documentation proving vaccination history and now includes a batch number as well as vaccine brand. This may prove helpful during return trips to the Kingdom.

Social distancing in the campus diner

It has been reported that a number of diners are not socially distancing in the Campus Diner. Please do not move chairs and tables or attmept to adjust the approved seating arrangement. Failure to abide by these rules is putting the safety of the community at risk. Face masks should only be removed when eating and drinking.

Service provider vaccination

We now have 99.4% of our service provider staff immune to COVID-19 (immune by first dose or immune by prior infection as listed in Tawakkalna).Of the 208 remaining, the vast majority have a good reason for not being vaccinated yet. KC3/SLM+ now requires that all service provider staff must be listed as immune in Tawakkalna to work in KAUST, and once the 2nd dose is widely available, we will update the requirement to be fully immune.

Many thanks to the GA team for securing the doses to make this happen, Daniel for facilitating at KAUST Health, and to Matthew and Chris for getting their people through the process.
