RT3 Research Focus

Researchers at KAUST are developing a test that is rapid, accurate and easy to use in the field—can it help flatten future curves?

KAUST Associate Professor of Bioengineering, Magdy Mahfouz and his team have developed a solution they are calling iSCAN for in-vitro Specific CRISPR-based Assay for Nucleic acids detection.

What are the triggers to move between reopening phases?

KAUST has a comprehensive plan that covers all aspects of how to resume operations. The plan details the steps necessary to resume operations safely and responsibly.

The KC3 has established decision-making steps or triggers to move between phases. Consideration will be given at all times to the COVID-19 specific measures being implemented by the Saudi Arabian Ministries.

Read more about the “triggers” and how they are implemented in the plan here.

Once again, we’d like to thank you for your cooperation and ongoing adherence to directives. These have been designed to keep you safe and to help manage the crisis.
