KAUST Celebrates World FM Day

KAUST celebrates World FM Day and the role of Facilities Management (FM) in cultivating a sense of belonging across Campus and Community.

This video shines a light on the teams behind the everyday services that keep KAUST’s campus and community spaces safe, reliable, sustainable and welcoming.

World FM Day is an annual global celebration that honors Facilities Management (FM) professionals and the important contributions they make to people, organizations and communities around the world.

This year, KAUST joins FM professionals worldwide in embracing the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) theme “Cultivating Belonging,” which highlights the importance of creating spaces where people feel valued, included, and empowered to thrive.

At KAUST the effective management of facilities is fundamental to the university’s success. Behind every groundbreaking discovery, every safe workspace, and every seamless campus experience, there is a dedicated team working behind the scenes to ensure that the environment supports research, education, innovation, and community life.

From the critical systems that enable advanced scientific research to the daily operation of laboratories, offices, residences, roads, public spaces and community facilities, FM helps keep KAUST safe, reliable, and welcoming. Its work goes far beyond maintenance. It is a strategic function that supports sustainability, operational excellence, resilience, and the well-being of everyone who lives, works, studies, and visits the campus.

As part of the World FM Day celebration, C&C is sharing a special video series. These videos offer personal perspectives on the world of Facilities Management and highlight how FM contributes to belonging, service quality and the overall KAUST experience.

World FM Day is also an opportunity to thank the people who keep KAUST’s environments running smoothly and sustainably every day. Their expertise, commitment and care help create the conditions that allow the KAUST community to focus on discovery, collaboration and progress.

To all Facilities Management teams at KAUST: Thank you for your dedication and service. Together, we are building the future.
