Please note that if you are using Google Chrome as a browser, it doesn’t come with an RSS reader extension by default, so you will need to add on the Google Chrome RSS extension.

Please make the feed accessible from Google Reader. Currently it is not possible to subscribe to it within Reader.
Since the blog is only accessible within KAUST, it can’t be read through externally hosted RSS readers, such as Google Reader. Installing the Chrome extension (link above) or any in-browser RSS reader would get around this issue. We realize this may not be ideal for everyone, so we are looking into other solutions, such as adding an email subscription to The Lens.
So this means that right now we will not get any of these announcements (some of them critical) while we are away from KAUST?
Please, this needs to be solved soon!
P.S. Emails worked great before, why change?
Outside of KAUST, The Lens can be accessed using a KAUST VPN, which can be coordinated with the IT Department.
The Lens blog serves as a central source of information (as well as offers immediate shared feedback such as posting comments), which the email announcement system failed to provide. Please know that it’s our aim to provide the most efficient and effective methods to keep all those at KAUST informed.
That being said, we also want to give our readers several options for staying informed so they can choose the best method that works for them. We are currently in the final testing phase of adding an email subscription feature to The Lens and hope to launch it in the coming days.
