Speakers

Dr. Jian PAN (MS 10’)

Dr. Jian PAN, Senior Engineer, member of the International Water Association-Young Water Professionals China Chapter; Consultant expert of Beijing and Zhejiang government entities; Bachelor and PhD of Zhejiang University in China, Master of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia; Applied 10 patents for invention, published 14 research articles, accomplished 6 National or Provincial Science and Technology Projects and 2 Municipal Science and Technology Projects. He has worked in an international think tank and a high-tech company, and now is the General Manager of Hangzhou Bertzer Catalyst Company and Vice-Director of the Environmental Technology Innovation Center of Jiande (an innovation platform and business incubator). In particular, he has rich experiences in the research and development, production, and application of environmental protection catalysts. He received the KAUST Alumni Change Makers Award in 2022 as well as the first prize of the Water Conservancy Science and Technology Innovation Award of Zhejiang Province in 2023.  He is also the president of the KAUST China Alumni Chapter and was the founding president of the KAUST Amateur Astronomer Association.

Mr. Lei WANG (MS 11’)

Mr. Lei WANG, who graduated with a master’s degree from KAUST in 2011, is a senior intellectual property expert and patent agent in China. With 13 years of experience in the Chinese intellectual property sector, he is also a member of the intellectual property expert databases in several provinces across China. He previously served as a national patent examiner and is currently employed at the Jiangsu branch of the China National Intellectual Property Administration. His primary role involves providing intellectual property analysis services to innovative institutions. Throughout his career, Mr. Wang has been instrumental in numerous pivotal patent projects, both at the provincial and national levels. His extensive experience extends to intellectual property research, patent intelligence analysis, and invalidation litigation, among other areas.
