KAUST'S Vizlab On Nature Middle East

Our Visualization Lab’s amazing CAVEcam system features in a front page story on Nature.com’s Middle East site. The article describes how KAUST and UCSD researchers have used this unique imaging capacity to construct 3D models of the wonders of ancient Egypt. The team envisions cyberarchaeology, whereby historic sites are preserved and made digitally available so that researchers can study artefacts without worrying about accidentally damaging or contaminating them.
