KAUST Health accredited by Joint Commission International

KAUST has a commitment to attracting high-caliber talent to live and work in an organization that provides outstanding facilities and services. Consistent with this, the KAUST Health Board requested that KAUST Health (KH) seek international accreditation with the purpose of:

• Increasing accountability to patients, community members, stakeholders and policy makers;
• Independently identifying and addressing strengths and weaknesses;
• Promoting transparency; and
• Maintaining the focus on continuous improvement.

We are pleased to announce that after a rigorous onsite survey, KAUST Health was recently accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). Click here to learn more. JCI was selected because it is an international body and is well-known across the world and in Saudi Arabia.

This accreditation demonstrates that KH has systems, processes and policies in place that are proof that KH meets the leading standards of quality for patient care. It further demonstrates that there is a mechanism in place for continuous improvement. A number of areas were assessed by the accreditors. These include but are not limited to:

• International patient safety goals;
• Assessment of patients;
• Quality improvement; and
• Infection prevention and control.

KAUST Health remains committed to ensuring that our community has access to the best healthcare possible.
