KAUST CIV – Conference on Computational Imaging and Visualization Monday, February 29 to Wednesday, March 2

The Visual Computing Center at KAUST is hosting an international conference on computational imaging and visualization.

KAUST CIV – Conference on Computational Imaging and Visualization
Monday, February 29 – Wednesday, March 2
Exhibition Halls 1, 2 & 3, Level 3
Museum and Conference Center (bldg.19)

This conference will explore the interface of computational imaging (i.e. the joint design of new imaging hardware and algorithms to capture and encode information) and visualization (i.e. the generation of visual representations for scientific and other datasets). The focus of this conference will be on new methods and applications for computational imaging and scientific visualization in science, engineering and medicine.

KAUST CIV is an exciting opportunity to meet with visual computing experts from KAUST and abroad. The conference will feature a series of internationally renowned keynote speakers, invited talks by KAUST faculty and researchers, universities world-wide and industry, as well as student poster sessions.

The conference will offer engaging talks and plenty of room for discussions as well as the opportunity to meet in-person with experts in the field from academia or industry.

On Wednesday, March 2, we will also be hosting an open house in the Visual Computer Center, Al-Khawarizimi (bldg. 1), Level 2 (Seaside) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will include exhibitors from local industry.

Conference co-chairs

Wolfgang Heidrich, VCC director

Markus Hadwiger, VCC associate professor

Ganesh Sundaramoorthi, VCC assistant professor

Keynote speakers:

Professor Hanspeter Pfister

Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and
Applied Sciences

Professor Richard Baraniuk
