Government Affairs Fingerprint Registration

Government Affairs is asking that all NON-Saudi KAUST members over the age of 6, and domestic helpers, make sure their fingerprints are enrolled with the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to ensure smooth delivery of services such as:

  • Iqama renewal
  • Exit/Re-entry visa
  • Traveling
  • Job title change

Please follow these steps to make sure your fingerprints are enrolled:

  1. Go to the Public Query Fingerprint Enrollment link on the MOI website
  2. Enter your information as instructed
  3. If you receive the message “Fingerprint Enrollment Updated” then you are enrolled
  4. If you receive the message “Fingerprint Enrollment not Updated” please visit the MOI team to register your fingerprints along with your original Iqama

The MOI team will be available:
Monday, February 9 to Thursday, February 12
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Discovery Square in front of Shoro

Please note: The ABSHER system, located at the GASC business center, is ONLY for activating your registered fingerprint by the MOI.

Notice on the MOI booth @ discovery square states “for children over 14” and the times on the booth have been changed from 10am-4pm.

In this case, a supplimentary announcement is needed to inform the whole community.

Apparently, you must get your name on a list and then wait. I arrived at 1:15 with my children, as this prevented me from missing too much work and them from missing too much school and was instructed that I needed to return tomorrow at 10:00 to get on the list. Perhaps they could bring the van to the school since so many school children are needing fingerprinting.

I have also just heard that you must have your name on a list and then return, but this is not stated above at all.
Surely this now means people must make more changes to their schedule and take even more time out to meet this requirement? Apparently there is a huge queue with a large number of children- as Julie suggests above, could this not be done at the school so that classes over the age of 6 can be rotated on a timetable to minimise disruption?

It will be good, if they can give a time slot after registering names on a list.It is inconvenient to wait indefinitely without knowing you will be called on the same day or not.

Talha Hassan February 10, 2015 - 4:29 pm

Please clarify, what is the age of children that this fingerprint registration applies to, over 6 or over 14?

Henriette February 10, 2015 - 4:54 pm

Hi Talha Hassan, I finally got through to GASC and they confirmed that children 6 years and above need to be fingerprinted (beats me why but ok, policy..) and in order to do that you need to come tomorrow at 10 with your child to put a name on the list.

Talha Hassan February 12, 2015 - 12:16 pm

Will GASC extend this fingerprints collection session?

We went at 10am this morning to get a no. (got 100+) and were told to come back at 11am. At 11 am, less than 20 are done. And the kids are out of school and are queuing till now.
