The Imaging and Characterization Core Lab (IAC), Optical Microscopy Unit, is delighted to host a four-day long course on fundamental principles in optical microscopy exclusively for KAUST students, postdocs and research associates. This course offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in optical microscopy techniques.
Attendees will have the chance to participate in a series of engaging sessions designed to enhance their understanding of optical microscopy. The course will consist of theory lectures each morning, from 9:30AM to 12:00PM, followed by an afternoon practical session after lunch, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. The afternoon practical session spots on November 9, 10, and 11 are limited due to equipment and instructor availability, but morning lectures and the practical session on the afternoon of November 12 are available to all. Indicate your preference upon registration.
During the course, participants will delve into a broad range of topics, including:
Image Formation in the Microscope, Fluorescence Microscopy, Confocal Microscopy, Digital Imaging, Basic Image Data Analysis. Applications including Airyscan imaging, structured illumination microscopy, time-resolved microscopy (FLIM) and standard confocal imaging will be discussed.
To secure your spot, please register for the course in advance, where more details are available on the topics covered.
