Emotional resilience workshop for adolescents on November 1

Developing emotional resilience in adolescents

KAUST Health has teamed up with the ACT Center (Adult and Child Therapy Center) in Jeddah to develop an interactive workshop about increasing emotional resilience in adolescents, 11-14 years old.

Adolescents during this age are particularly at risk of feeling increasingly stressed or anxious because of all the changes they are experiencing on a daily basis. At this key point in their lives, they are having to deal with the possible difficult transition of going from elementary school to high school, both academically and socially. This is a critical time to teach young people proper coping mechanisms and strategies to help them become emotionally resilient as they meet ever-increasing challenges in life.

Participants will learn, indirectly through engaging in team building activities and smaller break-out groups, how to identify and cope with different emotional states such as anxiety and depression.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, 1 November, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the IRC activity room. Parents are asked to register their child for the workshop and are not required to attend. Dinner will be provided.

There are limited places for the workshop. To book or ask questions, please contact Fatmah.Hadadi@kaust.edu.sa
