All KAUST community members are invited to join the eighth annual Back to School Campaign, supporting schoolchildren in our neighboring towns of Thuwal and Qadimah!
This year, our goal is to serve over 1,300 primary and secondary school students, equipping them for a positive start to the school year.
Grade 1 students will again receive school backpacks filled with essential school supplies. Building on last year’s provision of sports uniform for grades 7 and 10, this year all students in grades 7 to 12 will receive sports uniform, promoting KAUST values of lifelong health, fitness and wellbeing, and enabling students to participate fully in the sporting opportunities at school.

In-kind donations: Visit Tamimi Supermarket and purchase stationery from the dedicated displays. Place your items in the Back to School Collection boxes at the front of the store.
Volunteering opportunities:
- Promoting the campaign at the Back to School Information Point in Tamimi (for TKS Students August 28 – September 3
- Assembling school kits (September 4) – KAUST community volunteers can register here
- Distributing school kits in person at Thuwal and Qadimah schools (September 5) – KAUST community volunteers can register interest here
- Joining in with sporting activities with Thuwal and Qadimah students at their schools and at KAUST (dates to be advised)
The Back to School Campaign is part of the Social Responsibility Young Learners Development Program (YLDP) and represents one of the many ways in which KAUST is giving back to its neighbors. YLDP aims to improve learning environments and educational outcomes for students by working with our local community partners to ensure needs are being met for maximum impact in the classroom and beyond. KAUST Social Responsibility is a department of Saudi Affairs.
