Community Art in Action: Drip Art Tower Displays

Community Services is pleased to announce the Community Art in Action showcase. The showcase will display the Drip Art Towers, an activity organized by the KAUST Art self-directed group (SDG) during the Moments event in December, where participants of all ages were asked to pour paint over tower sculptures.

The president of the KAUST Art SDG, Chris Newns, maintains that the towers are metaphors for KAUST; he explains that “the different colored paints represent the multi-faceted community in KAUST and the patterns which are created resemble the intermingling of cultures and nationalities.”

The Drip Art Towers will be installed over the next few days in the following locations:

Administration Building (building 16) lobby area
Discovery Square Cinema lobby area
Island Recreation Center
Harbor Recreation Center
