The Animal Welfare Club is inviting the KAUST community to its first Cattery Open Day on Friday, September 11, from 5:00 p.m. at the Cattery.
Come meet the cats and kittens, learn more about the work that goes into caring for KAUST’s community cats. You can also learn about responsible pet ownership and how we can safely live alongside the cats that call KAUST home.

Entry Fee: 50 SAR per person
- Every riyal goes straight into food, litter, vet care and neutering for the community cats at KAUST.
- Cash and card payments are accepted. See the registration form for details on direct transfers to Al Hamra Veterinary Center.
What to expect
There’s something for everyone, including:
- Meet and spend time with the cats and kittens
- Face painting
- Cat photo booth
- Cat toy making
- Live DJ music
- Junior Animal Welfare Explorer passport activity for younger visitors
Food and refreshments
Your SAR 50 entry fee includes a free BBQ plate and soft drink. Baked goods, popcorn, ice cream and community cat merchandise will also be available for purchase.
Getting there
Parking at the Cattery is limited, so we’ve arranged a special event shuttle running every 10 minutes between Tamimi Supermarket and the Cattery.:
- 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. | Tamimi Parking Lot → Cattery
- 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. | Cattery → Tamimi Parking Lot

The Al Hamra Veterinary Center team will be available to answer questions and offer pet care consultations.
