KAUST Health and Government Affairs would like to express our gratitude for the support and generosity of every blood donor from the KAUST community. Every drop of your donation counts and can go to helping a person in need.
With the support of the visiting team from King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital and the incredible mobile donation facility, there was an amazing response to this event with a record of 207 blood donors (130% increase on the previous campaign). 33 people donated blood with us for the first time.
A wide variety of blood types were donated which is great news for the healthcare facilities who use them:
- 43% O+
- 28% A+
- 15% B+
- 5% O-
- 5% AB+
- 2% A-
- 1% B-
The feedback on the blood donation team was well received with 96% of donors satisfied with the process and service provided.
The commitment and support from the community is appreciated, and for those that missed the opportunity this time, watch out for announcements of future blood donation campaigns in 2023.
