We are inviting the research community to the KAUST Beginner Course on Laser Safety and Laser Technology, organized on May 12 by HSE in collaboration with LEM and CERP.
Lasers are playing an increasingly vital role in modern research environments. This growing use presents a valuable opportunity for students, post-docs, and researchers to deepen their understanding of laser fundamentals and further develop practical skills in setting up and optimizing optical beamlines.
This course will cover basic knowledge required for operators who want to better understand the operating principles of lasers (introduction to laser safety, operation, and laser beam diagnostics). Practical sessions will also take place to help participants to gain confidence in learning on how to clean optics and select the correct laser eye protection, basic laser alignment, and measurement of beam parameters.
Please note:
Spaces are limited (max. 30 participants). This is a half-day training session (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). After attendance and successful completion of the exam, participants will receive a laser training certificate.
