KAUST Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), in collaboration with The KAUST School (TKS), invites the KAUST community to participate in Mangrove Planting Day, a hands-on environmental activity supporting coastal habitat restoration and biodiversity conservation.
The event builds on the ongoing collaboration between HSE and TKS through the school-based Mangrove Nursery initiative, where students have been actively involved in growing and caring for mangrove seedlings as part of their environmental learning.
Participants will have the opportunity to plant mangrove seedlings along the KAUST shoreline, explore coastal wildlife, and learn about the important role mangroves play in protecting shorelines, providing habitats for marine species, and maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems.
Beyond planting trees, the event aims to strengthen community involvement in local conservation efforts, encourage environmental stewardship, and demonstrate how collective action can contribute to restoring and protecting KAUST’s natural environment.
Join us for a morning of hands-on restoration and help make a lasting difference to our coastline!
