Register your interest for the COVID-19 vaccination

Community members may now register their interest in the free COVID-19 vaccine through the Sehaty app (Android / iOS) from the Ministry of Health. While an official vaccination start date has yet to be provided, we do expect it to start soon.

We are working to provide vaccinations at KAUST, but we encourage everyone aged 16 and over, to register using the Sehaty app. This may enable some of our community to be vaccinated through the MOH locations sooner than they would through KAUST and this process is entirely free of charge. Access to the vaccinations are based on a prioritization system built on a number of factors, including age and chronic health conditions.

When more details about the vaccination program at KAUST are confirmed, further communications will follow.

COVID-19 Screening Program—Round 2

As part of the COVID-19 Testing Plan, KAUST, in collaboration with Government Affairs and the Ministry of Health, is hosting a second round of the COVID-19 Screening Program, running from January 17-21.

Participation in the COVID-19 Screening Program is mandatory for all KAUST employees and students including those living and working outside KAUST. We strongly urge other community members to also take part.

December 20 COVID-19 update

No positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified at KAUST in the last 7 days.

The 14-day positivity rate* at KAUST is currently at 0.00%.

We’d like to thank all community members for practicing physical distancing, the wearing of face coverings, hand washing and adherence to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines.

If you have symptoms, please stay home and call KAUST Health at 012 808 0940.

* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period. Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.

Planning to get a COVID-19 vaccination while travelling out of the Kingdom?

While plans are being finalized in Kingdom and at KAUST for COVID-19 vaccinations, we understand some people will be travelling out of the country and may have the opportunity to be vaccinated for COVID-19.

Before you get your COVID-19 vaccination abroad, there are some considerations you should keep in mind:

  1. If you are getting a double dose vaccine (eg. Pfizer which requires two doses 21 days apart, others may vary in time), make sure you have enough time to have both doses. Getting only one dose will not give you full immunity and you won’t qualify as ‘vaccinated’ upon your return to the Kingdom.
  2. Make sure you keep a copy your COVID-19 vaccination record – including manufacturer, dates and batch number of doses.
  3. Upon arrival to KAUST you must provide your COVID-19 vaccination information, so KAUST Health can update your medical record accordingly.

Thank you for Keeping KAUST Safe and a have safe travels!
