As winter break approaches, KAUST Medical Services is reminding our community members to think about their health needs when traveling. Please ensure that you carry additional supplies of any essential medication and be aware that you may require a letter from your doctor about the medications you are carrying for customs clearance.

In addition to thinking about any vaccinations needed for this break, it is also worth considering any that you may require in the next twelve months that could be difficult to acquire in the Kingdom.

If you are planning to visit a country that requires yellow fever vaccination please note that while it is possible to receive the vaccination in Saudi Arabia, stocks are limited to only a few government clinics in Jeddah and you may find it simpler and more convenient to receive the vaccine whilst in your home country. Please note that once received the vaccine will provide cover for ten years. Please ensure that you receive your shot at a reputable clinic and that they issue you with a yellow fever immunization booklet. This is the document that you need to show at the airport for entry to certain countries and is a yellow colored booklet.

KAUST Medical Services would like to take this opportunity to wish those who are traveling during winter break a safe and pleasant journey.

If you need medical assistance or vaccinations prior to traveling, please make an appointment with family medicine at KMC. You can make an appointment by:
