Dear KAUST community,
Earlier today we experienced an interruption to our power supply. It appears that the interruption was due to damage to the overhead lines that bring power to KAUST. This caused the power lines to break and cut our power source completely.
We have been closely monitoring the progress of repairs and in constant communication with Saudi Electric Company as they work to restore power. Tonight, they restored one of the utility lines and the facilities team initiated a managed process to bring the power back on line.
A rollout process has started to reach full power in the community and on campus. To support this, we ask everyone to continue conserving power.
On campus, research personnel are to stay out of the labs until they receive additional information directly from the Office of the Vice President of Research.
Students will receive additional information from the housing office.
