The Green Group is seeking to help KAUST become a sustainable community by reducing our consumption of single-use plastic on campus, including plastic bottles filled with drinking water. Currently, we throw away about 2000 water bottles per day at KAUST. We can reduce this number dramatically by drinking from the tap and carrying reusable bottles.
Learn why it is safe to drink tap water on campus by going to the source – the KAUST Water Desalination Plant. Join the Green Group on a tour of the plant on Thursday, November 8. Meet in the Tamimi parking lot at 10:45 a.m. for free transportation to the plant. The tour will last about an hour and we will drop you back at Tamimi after the tour.
