Great initiative. I am hoping one day that the water taxi would take KAUSTees to more practical destinations such as economic city

Thank you for your comments Moawya. We hope to expand the water taxi service in the future. However, leaving KAUST Waters is a litle more complicated as Security & Coastguard approval etc is required. Going to and from The KAUST Beach is much easier and hopefully residents will enjoy.

Sounds great! Could you also tell us how long the trip takes, how many passengers can be accomodated on a trip, and provide a map showing the route? Is there any pre-booking required? (Are life-vests provided?) Is this characterised as a leisurely, relaxing, cruise-type experience, or a fast, exciting, zip-of-a-trip?

Dear Chris

The Water Taxi Service is intended to take residents to and from the KAUST South Beach. Instead of taking your car or the bus to reach the South Beach we are offering another form of transport. The usual safety requirements etc will be in place such as life jackets etc etc. No bookings required and the trip should take approx 15 mins.

I agree with Moawya. If it can take us to the economic city would be even a better initiative. Surely, you will find passengers wanting to go there.

Thank you KAUST for the water taxi. I took the taxi to the beach on Friday morning with some friends. It was great to sail over to the beach and the journey was nicer by sea than road. I can’t wait to try use the taxi again.
