Dear KAUST Community,
To support enhanced mobility and sustainable transport across campus, the Government Affairs & Security Department, in collaboration with HSE and C&C, is pleased to announce that cyclists (aged 18 and above) are now permitted to access main security gates daily from 05:00 to 22:00.
Please note that access is strictly limited to bicycles. Other mobility devices, such as e-scooters and kick scooters, remain restricted at external gates for safety reasons. To ensure a smooth transition, please adhere to the following access protocols:
- Gate 3: The primary access point for all individual cyclist movements.
- Gate 1: Available for large groups only. This requires exceptional approval at least 24 hours in advance via ask.security@kaust.edu.sa .
Only bicycles registered with KAUST Security will be permitted. If you haven’t already, please visit the ID Office to register your bike before your first trip. Security personnel will verify registration upon re-entry to the campus.
For your safety and the safety of our staff, please ensure you:
- Use the designated lanes at the gates.
- Dismount and walk your bicycle when passing through the security checkpoint.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including helmets and lights.
