We are missing Ramadan lights and decoration in discovery square, as KAUST used to do in the previous years. The square is much better with the lights and decoration than the current huge tents that occupy the entire square area.

Dear Ahmed & ‘Name’

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this post – please note that registrations open from 7 p.m.

Regarding the tent. Due to the heat at this time of year and public requests for air conditioned eating and activity areas, it has been necessary to utilize the large KAUST tent. We do hope that everyone enjoys their evenings throughout Ramadan as well as the decorations throughout the area.

Ramadan Kareem to you all!

Hi Event Organizing Team,
Great Things organized for the kids! Thanks.

I registered my 2 children for the Young Chef Academy Cooking Session on Friday. Only to my disappointment – the session was unorganized and unprofessionally carried out (even my 11 years old child used this term.)

There were 2 sessions available 9.30-11pm and 11-30-1pm and supposed to prepare 3 items, as advertised. I registered my children for the 9-11pm session so that they don’t have to stay out too late. They even skipped Taraweh prayer to attend this session, went to MPR at 9pm.

10.30 pm – They just started with the 1st dish!! (Apparently the team arrived late from Jeddah) Kids registered for the 2nd session already outside, they combined both sessions and did just 2 items out of 3. Obviously, false advertisement!

I talked to another mother who registered her child for the Engineering Session the night before (Thursday), seems like same thing happen. They were late, and end up doing just one Item instead of 2.

I talked to the event coordinator lady, Du’aa (if I remember correctly), she said submit an official written complain, I’m not sure where actually I can submit one… so here it is

Thank you for your comments.

We have put measures in place which will ensure the activities commence on time. We have also increased the timing of the sessions from 60 to 90 minutes. The Cooking Academy will add an additional recipe, and an additional experiment will be added for the Engineering Session. We are also introducing other minor changes that we hope will enhance the customer experience.
