New Report Phishing Plugin

To provide you with the ability to easily report phishing e-mails to the Information Security Department (ISD), a new “report phishing”plugin will be launched on Thursday, May 5 to end user machines that are managed by the IT Department.

The plugin will automatically be installed onto your Windows or Mac operating system.

Where can I find it?

For Windows users, the “Phish” icon will be added to the ribbon commands after restarting Microsoft Outlook.

For Mac users, you will find the “Phish” icon in the dock.

How does it work?

If you receive a suspicious email and you are unsure whether to open it or not, then it’s better to be safe and report it.

Simply highlight/select the email then click on the “Phish” button and you will see this dialog box.

Once you report it, the email will be deleted and moved to your Deleted Items folder. If the email is safe and you wish to retrieve it, check the deleted items and you can move the email back to your Inbox.

If the e-mail turns out to be part of ISD’s awareness campaigns, this message will be displayed.

Please note, this add-in will only work with Microsoft Outlook, so you won’t be able to use it with Webmail, your mobile phone or other email clients.

If you have any questions or feedback, please send an email to ithelpdesk@kaust.edu.sa.

Regards,
The IT Department
