The KAUST mail and courier service provider SMSA (the local agent for FedEx), has not had the FedEx contract renewed beyond December 31, 2014. In order to support the KAUST international mail and courier business and community requirements, an agreement has been made with a new provider for our international shipments.
Effective January 1, 2015, DHL Express will handle all international inbound and outbound shipments for KAUST. SMSA will continue to manage KAUST internal and in-Kingdom mail services, the post office and the mail & courier helpdesk.
KAUST staff can request the outbound international service as follows:
- Complete the DHL EmailShip linked form
- Telephone SMSA Mail & Courier Helpdesk on: (012) 8085 777 to request pickup. (Onward transportation will then be the responsibility of DHL).
The “DHL EmailShip” is a reusable PDF form that will help users prepare and manage all express international shipments. The system will allow the user to print airway bills, store contact details, delivery notifications etc. directly to the user’s computer.

What about the Fedex Service Store2door how this is affected ?
yes many of us are quite dependent on the store2door service.

This change in provider will not impact FedEx Store2Door deliveries to KAUST. All parcels addressed to KAUST will arrive as usual.
