University and community parking rules ensure the safety of all community members. Please follow the below rules when using the parking facilities at KAUST.
Campus garage parking guidelines
The North, Central, and South covered parking areas have spaces allocated for executive, handicapped, motorcycle and scooter, eco-carts& golf buggies and general use. Please park in the appropriate space for your vehicle.
Additionally:
- Eco-carts, golf buggies and alternative fuel vehicles must park in the spaces marked ‘Eco-cart’
- Vehicles in non-designated areas will be towed at theowner’s expense and issued a violation
- Long-term parking of vehicles is not permitted and abandoned vehicles will alsobe towed
Bicycle campus parking guidelines
Bicycle safety is important. Cyclists must park in designated parking areas and use only the assigned access routes. Cycling regulations are intended to prevent bicycles from parking in areas of high pedestrian traffic, areas that could cause a public safety hazard, or could obstruct emergency services.
These regulations include:
- Bicycles are not to be leaned against walls or laid on the ground
- Bicycle parking is not permitted in front of buildings or exits
- Bicycles are not permitted to be parked in the atrium of Ibn Al-Haytham, Ibn Sina, Al-Jazri, and Al-Kindi (buildings 2, 3, 4, and 5)
- Bicycles not in designated parking areas will be removed and the owner issued with a violation
- Scooters and motorcycles cannot park in designated bicycle areas
To protect the safety of the community and the integrity of the laboratory environment, the above will be strictly enforced.
Community parking guidelines
Specific parking areas have been provided throughout the community to ensure that no parked vehicle infringes on, or creates a safety hazard to road users, or pedestrians. The use of footpaths and/or pedestrian areas (including but not limited to, Discovery Square and Town Center) for parking is not permitted for any motorized vehicle.
Samba Bank car park is for KAUST community member’s vehicles only.
Eco-carts, golf and dune buggies, motorcycles and scooters must be parked in designated parking areas only. All vehicles must be positioned within the lines. Non-motorized vehicles must not block pathways, building access, or infringe on the right-of-way of walkers, service providers and/or emergency services.
