All KAUST community is invited to celebrate the Fascination of Plants Day this Saturday, May 23. The Center for Desert Agriculture (CDA) is organizing a number of events which will showcase the work of the research groups of the CDA in the context of providing cutting edge molecular approaches to perform sustainable agriculture in hot and arid environments.

The Greenhouse
Events will take place in the greenhouse near Gate 7. CDA scientists, staff and students will take you on a fascinating guided tour to explain their research and highlight the wonders of plants and their potential applications. Read more about the global observance here.
Tours will introduce the main research areas of CDA research teams. Participants will enjoy a guided tour that will show off the various crop plants grown under different growth conditions. During the event, attendees will have the chance to watch a video on the wonders of plants, ask questions to researchers and have an opportunity to take home some plants for growth in their own backyard. Children will be invited to express their interest in plants with drawings that will be collected and entered into a contest.
Groups of around 25 will tour the greenhouse for around one hour. The tours will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please register for the time slot that is most convenient for you and your family.
