As part of the recent upgrade to ArcGIS 10.1, the GIS Team has updated the KAUST Community Maps Website at http://maps.kaust.edu.sa. This link is also listed on the Links page of The Lens, under KAUST Online Map.
Highlights of the new website include:
• Improved user interface
• Updated map cartography
• Search box for residential building numbers, academic buildings, facilities, parks, streets, and landmarks
• New satellite imagery layer
• Quickly locate an area of interest with the list of “bookmarks” for many places on campus
• Sketch with lines, points, and area shapes as well as text labels on the map
• Simplified printing interface to share maps
• Measure distances and areas as well as finding coordinate in Latitude/Longitude or Ain el Abd coordinate systems
• Single page web application
• Support for IE 8+, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome
• Partial support for tablets and phones
