IT Security would like to remind you of useful information about security incidents.
Security incidents are any network or host activities that can potentially threaten the IT security systems. Incidents can include the following:
- Attempts to gain unauthorized access to a system or data.
- Unwanted disruption or denial of service.
- Unauthorized use of a system.
- Changes to system hardware or software without the owner’s knowledge.
- Lost or stolen devices containing unencrypted sensitive data.
After reporting an incident, make sure to take the following measures:
- Do not power off or shut down the device.
- Disconnect the computer system from the network by removing the network cable and disconnecting from the wireless network.
- Do not install any additional software on the device.
