However, these devices are one of the most common causes of fire due to overloading and use of sub-standard quality. Make sure your strip/adapter is listed and certified by a recognized laboratory (such as Underwriters laboratory, Factory mutual or CE).
Therefore, it is required to always use the correct type and listed power strip and power plug adapter to avoid the ignition of cloth, paper, carpet etc. and start a fire.
